Vecna was founded in 1998 by MIT alumni Deborah and Daniel Theobald to provide consulting and systems integration services to the United States Military Health System and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The company name is derived from the feminine form of the Czech word věčný. The company has offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Greenbelt, Maryland location closed in 2019.
